Gingerbread per ora , vuoi perchè è in porting, vuoi perchè è stato fatto ex novo, non mi fa impazzire...

Realmente, nella esperienza d'uso cosa introduce? Nulla?
Gingerbread nelle AOSP ha portato il copia-incolla, ma nelle sense c'è già.
Ma la sense è migliorata con girgerbread? HTC ha aggiunto qualcosa?

Improved UI: The UI has been generally tweaked and refined to improve usability, speed and simplicity. I am cautiously optimistic that these improvements will streamline the usability of the Android platform. In its current state I enjoy the look and feel of Android, however certain inconsistencies in the menus drive me crazy. So, one improvement I am looking forward to is the new notifications bar which will have shortcuts to the task manager.

Software Keyboard: The software keyboard has been “redesigned and optimised for faster text input and editing”. The Android’s software keyboard has, for some time, made the user-experience of an Android phone feel a little cumbersome. Fortunately, Gingerbread has overhauled the keyboard by spacing out the keys, making them easier to hit, and enabling the use of multi-touch which should increase typing speeds. Finally, the new colour scheme makes the keyboard more aesthetically pleasing.

Better Copy/Paste: It is now possible to copy a word by pressing and hold and then selecting copy. Additionally, pressing on a word enters a “free-selection mode” allowing the user to adjust the selection area by dragging a set of arrows to new positions. Until Gingerbread, copy and paste was awkward as it was difficult to accurately select the portion of text that needed to be copied and in most cases the user would have to copy the entire portion of text. I personally, end up copying and pasting text a lot between different applications and this is one update I have been eagerly anticipating.

Improved power management: Gingerbread has improved the way Android manages applications that stay awake for too long or use excessive CPU cycles by aggresively closing them when appropriate. This feature will be very useful as it will stop rogue, or badly written apps, from running down the battery unnecessarily. However, battery tweaks always sound better in principle and without further testing it is difficult to ascertain the effectiveness of this improvement.

Application Controls: The “Manage Applications” has a new shortcut making it easier to view and manage applications directly from the options menu on the home screen. One of the biggest complaints I had on earlier versions of Android was that it took a very long time for the applications list to completely load. Hopefully, this update has fixed this issue.

VOIP Calling: With Google acquiring Gizmo earlier this year and integrating video chat to GTalk, it only seemed a matter of time before the ability to make voice calls over the internet became a reality. Unfortunately, it seems as though VOIP calling is limited to those with SIP accounts, as Gingerbread does not include the ability to create a new account. This will undoubtedly pose a problem for novice users as setting up a SIP account is a difficult task. Furthermore, it is likely that carriers will be limiting this feature as it would require heavy data usage and it would negate the need to obtain a voice plan entirely.

Near-field communications (NFC): NFC is a short-range high frequency wireless communications technology which enables the exchange of data between devices over a short distance (Wikipedia [4]). The NFC Reader application bundled with Gingerbread will enable users to read and interact with the NFC tags around them. However, implementation of the NFC hardware on the phone will be dependent on hardware manufacturers and carriers. We will also have to wait and see if the use of NFC tags becomes popular in shops, restaurants and other popular outlets.

Downloads Manager: A completely new downloads manager has been developed for Gingerbread. To be perfectly honest, there did not appear to be anything particularly lacking from the current downloads manager, hence it will be interesting to see what the new application will bring to the table.

Mulitple Camera Support: Gingerbread appears to be anticipating a deluge of new Android devices, such as the Notion Ink Adam [5], featuring multiple cameras (front and rear facing) as it has included support for multiple cameras.

Gingerbread appears to be focusing primarily on the user interface of the Android platform, something that has long been espoused as being its Achilles heel. It seems as though Google has addressed its critics by making some major changes and in some cases completely overhauling the user-interface of the Android platform.

Vedi ormai uso Android da un pò, dalla 1.1 per l'esattezza.
Gli aggiornamenti li ho passati un pò tutti.
Gingerbread poi l'abbiam provato o lo usiamo un pò tutti con la cyano 7.
Quello che chiedevo è cosa introducesse di nuovo con la sense HD a livello di usabilità per l'utente. E in particolar modo mi interessava sapere cosa avesse integrato HTC... gingerbread AOSP, come detto, l'ho già provato.

Sinceramente, proprio perchè gingerbread in realtà è molto più di quello che l'utente vede, a me sembra un pochetto aspro, sopratutto nei porting.
Ma son pareri, quello che importa è motivare le proprie posizioni
