Hi! Dear paolothlw8, appreciate your contribution to the world.
I must say I haven't yet flashed this Rom, since I am waiting that key problem to be solved, as well as a possible power draining problem common to Android 5.x.
But before that, I guess this Rom will also have interface problem on Dual Sim as original/yios, so I want to give a suggestion for your consideration:
Most Dual Sim phone hasn't yet been optimized, and just provide one phone button, and thus requires 3 Clicks in the process: Open Phone Icon + Call + Select Sim.
In case users need to use some bad integrated software like Skype, which may request selection repeatedly, up to 5 clicks may be required in order to make phone call successfully: Open Phone Icon + Call + Select Sim + Select between Phone & Skype (initiated by Skype) + Re-Select Sim (initiated by Skype).
The best solution I have seen from a Dual-Sim phone is: Providing 2 Phone Icons. Any call made from 1/2 icon will normally by corresponding Sim1/Sim2, unless special preset.
The normal process can be reduced from 3 clicks to 2 clicks: Open Phone Icon with Desired-Sim + Call
The process (with Skype installed) can be reduced from 5 clicks to 3 clicks: Open Phone Icon with Desired-Sim + Call + Select between Phone & Skype. (Skype won't request Re-Select Sim in this case, since Skype now don't know we have Dual Sims)
Similar concept may also apply to Contact Icon.
To unify the usage experience, personally I usually more prefer using Contact Icon, instead of Phone Icon. Because Contact Icon provide more DIRECT & FLATTEN choices like Skype, Whatsapp, ... This can reduce the no. of clicks, and let me to decide which communication mode to use after selecting the suitable contact person.
I already answered a few days ago to a question like that here: https://www.androidiani.com/forum/in...ml#post6984380
I don't know if the cyanogen team is planning to improve the dialer and the dual sim support
link and changelog release v4 in first page
I just installed v4. Will let you know if any problems occur
In the meantime, I had a question -- older Android versions had a setting for custom Date & time formatting and I see this setting is mostly gone in newer versions and the OS pulls the Date & time settings for the language chosen in Language & input. I personally like to use the ISO date format but it isn't available. Any chance this could be added or do you know of any application that does custom Date & time formatting?
Thanks for you update.
The V4 is working like a charm, very smooth. I think it is because of the linaro toolchain .
Can you also do more optimization on the kernel? for example can you backport the ZRAM feature to the 3.4 kernel from higher base line of the kernel.
