Samsung annuncia ufficialmente i nuovi Galaxy Gear 2 e Gear 2 Neo [MWC 2014]

Dopo averli visti in alcuni primi render grazie ad @evleaks, durante le scorse ore il produttore sud-coreano Samsung ha ufficialmente annunciato i nuovi smartwatch basati sul sistema operativo Tizen, ovvero Galaxy Gear 2 e Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. Questi due device porteranno per la prima volta sul mercato dei dispositivi indossabili il nuovo OS di Samsung, inoltre non mancheranno le novità rispetto alla generazione precedente.

La prima grande novità di questi due nuovi smartwatch è la presenza di Tizen, il quale avrebbe permesso al produttore coreano di estendere la durata della batteria fino a 2-3 giorni.

Gli smartwatch sono leggermente più sottili e leggeri rispetto al predecessore, pur mantenendo lo stesso design, anche perchè adesso la fotocamera è stata integrata nella scocca dello smartwatch permettendo di avere un cinturino più leggero e sottile.

Ecco le specifiche tecniche del Galaxy Gear 2:

  • Processore da 1 GHz
  • Sistema operativo Tizen
  • RAM 512MB
  • Memoria interna 4GB
  • Certificazione IP67 (resistenza alla polvere e all’acqua)
  • Sensore di frequenza cardiaca
  • Porta ad infrarossi
  • Batteria da 300 mAh

L’unica differenza tra le due versioni del nuovo Gear 2 consente nell’assenza della fotocamera nella versione Neo, la quale consente anche di avere circa 13 grammi di peso in meno. Inoltre, anche se la batteria risulta essere meno capiente rispetto a quella della generazione precedente, grazie all’ottimizzazione di Tizen è stato possibile estendere l’autonomia del device.
