Haha, l'hai notato anche tu? Hai visto che se inserisci l'email ti fanno $20 di sconto?

Mi piacerebbe sapere se oltre a utilizzarlo con KODI per guardare serie e film, magari si può utilizzare al posto del PC con Ubuntu, e che prestazioni ci si possono aspettare.

la cpu e la gpu dovrebbero permettere buone prestazioni..
Bisognerebbe capire come è implementato ubuntu in tal senso..

da quanto si capisce è indirizzato a due distinti mercati, il nostro (tv box ecc) come dimostra il telecomando a corredo, e quello degli sviluppatori (si da per scontato che si sappia chi sono francamente io non lo so sembra di capire che si pensi ad utilizzi professionali come pannelli informativi in luoghi pubblici e qualsiasi altro aggeggio che tragga vantaggio dall'avere dentro un computer). Per quest'ultimo uso è previsto l'acquisto di una interfaccia hardware aggiuntiva la cosiddetta landingship (il che giustifica la facilità di aprire il box ed estrarne la mobo) visibile sullo stesso sito.

Quanto all'uso con Ubuntu è cosa che mi incuriosisce da molto ma temo che la disponibilità applicazioni Linux che girano su ARM sia fisiologicamente più limitata di quelle che girano su piattaforma Intel.

L'idea che mi sono fatto è che come TV box il sistema ideale sarà android, per gli sviluppatori Linux.

Sarebbe comunque meglio di quei cosiddetti "Android PC" come il Remix Mini suppongo, almeno qui puoi far girare la versione desktop di Ubuntu, o sbaglio?

si, diciamo che il dual boot lascia spazio anche ad una postazione ubuntu per chi veramente vuole e sa essere padrone del sistema

Mi riferivo al fatto che qualsiasi applicazione sviluppata su piattaforma Intel per girare su Arm va quanto meno ricompilata e questo è ineludibile.

Grazie per l'info, non ero a conoscenza di questi problemi. Ma per esempio ci sono programmi come browsers e text editors (LibreOffice e simili) compatibili con Arm? Cioè il minimo indispensabile..

Purtroppo in merito esistono solo indicazioni generiche, dubito che la distribuzione non includa almeno browser e text editor (e non solo quelli). E poi siamo alle solite: se tra un anno o due ti sorge un'altra esigenza?
