[ROM][Sense 2.2.1][May 1st] HeroLatte 0.5 beta (including Hebrew/Arabic support)

Per gli amanti della Froyo che non possono rinunciare a Sense ecco una ROM stabilissima, veloce ed affidabile, con un'interfaccia grafica davvero ben fatta.

This is a port of the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide Froyo Sense to the Hero GSM. If you don't have a Hero GSM, look elsewhere.

After the dust settled with all the excitement of the new Sense Gingerbread, I revisited this port, and IMHO this one has real potential. It seems fast and stable and I am hoping to get everything working in the near future, well at least everything except the camera. Additionally, I am in parallel working on a method to add proper RTL support (Hebrew, Arabic) to closed source ROMs, and this ROM will incorporate this as well.

This ROM is now a collaboration between me and ArnoSlag.

For now, here is an update with what we got so far:

This is still an experimental version, mostly to get feedback from those bold enough to try it. I will be away for a few days, so most likely there won't be another update for at least a week. But, especially if there is interest in this, I will continue to work on this.

Instructions:
- Full wipe and flash from recovery
- First load will take a while

Known bugs and limitations:
- This is a port of a T-Mobile ROM (USA) so the Sense UI does not have the translations for European languages.
- Camera, not sure if its possible to have a working hero camera on Sense 2.2 ROMs
- Wifi hotspot does not work (I believe we don't have kernel support for this)
- Trackball notification does not work (WIP)
- Gyros seem to work (i.e. the included Teeter game), yet still if I install Abduction no gyros (also WIP)
- Menu key unlocks lock screen?!
- When the screen dims just before it times out, touching the screen will prevent the timeout but when using auto-brightness will result in very low brightness either until the screen is turned off and on or until there is a change in ambient light (causing a recalculation of the auto-brightness). Not much I can do about this HTC bug as they didn't give me the sources ;(.
- Arabic reshaping is not supported in the web browser (and other "small" Arabic problem support problem like the crazy cursor movement, which at least currently also exist in CM7).
- Anything else?

Ciao Buzz! Dici che ne vale la pena cambiare la cyano 6 stable con questa? Cioè come stabilità, fluidità e velocità sono circa alla pari o cosa? Poi vorrei sapere se con questa rom, essendoci la sense, sia in qualche modo compatibile qualche versione di flash player..

ciao io l'ho flashata ma non riesco a cambiare la lingua cioè è impostata su italiano (italia) ma rimane tutto in Inglese tranne alcuni particolari in più la lingua della scrittura della tastiera non riconosce nessun vocabolo in italiano come fare??

Gia'.... fanculaccio, un difetto dev'esserci in ogni ROM. In questa molto resta in inglese e tocca reinserire tutti i vocaboli. I primi SMS sono una bella rottura. Sarebbe una gran rom, pero', tra questo difetto (sorvolabilissimo) della lingua, ed il piu' importante problema della Camera che NON FUNZIONA!!!!! un po' ci sto' ripensando
Davvero ottima.... fluida e brillante, con un'interfaccia grafica che mi piace davvero parecchio. Quasi quasi testo la WildHero 1.2.1 uscita oggi. Ero stato sfortunato al flash della 1.2...... vediamo se l'update mi risolve il problema.

Non ho mai testato la Cyano 6 stable, quindi non ho termini di paragone. Come scritto sopra.... stabile, veloce, affidabile e bella da vedere.... questo di sicuro. Camera assente e lingua in crisi.
La WildHero la ritengo uno step sopra. Teniamo presente che questa e' alla sua seconda release datata ancora 1 maggio, mentre la Wild e' alla sua terza o quarta ed e' fresca di oggi.
Per il flash..... non vorrei dire una cazzata.... ma sembra andare. Nella Wild avevo notato il buon vecchio flash lite 2.1 che c'era nella Eclair originale, quindi presumo ci sia anche qui e che sia da associare a Sense.

Camera assente e assenza della lingua italiana sono due mancanze pesantissime... Mi sa che mi tengo la cyano 6 anche se senza flash.. In realtà flash mi serve per il 5% del mio utilizzo, non di più, ma quando serve è davvero indispensabile.. Credo che qualcosa ci sia anche sulla cyano 6: finora tutti i video da internet me li ha aperti senza problemi: il problema -passatemi il gioco di parole - è quando ci sono dei siti con la home per accedere ai contenuti del sito basata su flash player: non essendo un video non me lo apre col lettore e resta il quadratino col punto interrogativo. Speriamo in queste rom froyo-sense, dato che la froyo è la rom che più di tutte, è arrivata a livelli eccellenti di stabilità e prestazioni per hero e in più, se riescono a svilupparla per bene con la sense, si avrebbe anche flash. Praticamente il nostro hero non avrebbe alcun limite se non la compatibilità con alcune applicazioni pesanti e moderne che non sono compatibili -ahimé- col processore armv6 dell'hero.. Incrociamo le dita!!
