Possibilità di togliere i messaggi come "Online"; "Pincopallino sta scrivendo...." e "Visto oggi alle 02.11"

Come posso togliere questi messaggi? E poi non ho capito una cosa:

Sarò io a non vedere quando gli altri contatti visualizzano i miei messaggi, oppure saranno gli altri a non vedere quando io sarò online, quando ho visualizzato il messaggio, eccetera?
