Teoria interessante sulla banda gialla

Apro il thread perchè ho trovato un post interessante in merito all'effetto giallognolo presente su una porzione dello schermo (se lo schermo è interamente giallo allora è un problema di calibrazione o di fabbricazione).

Yellow band isn't caused by display calibration. Overall yellow is. A yellow band is caused by the adhesive on the screen digitizer not curing properly. There are two ways to fix this. 1st is to leave the phone is the sun for about 30 minutes at a time until it dries. 2nd is to put the phone under a UV lamp on the affected area only, for about 5 mins. You can usually see these lamps at nail salons. They look like little black lights that women out their hands under to dry their nails.

In breve, il tipo sostiene che se è presente una banda giallognola sul display questa non è dovuta a un problema di calibrazione ma bensì ad una mancata vulcanizzazione della parte adesiva dello schermo. Sempre secondo il tipo, è possibile rimediare anche ex post ponendo per 5 minuti la parte interessata sotto una lampada a raggi ultravioletti del tipo utlizzato dagli estetisti per asciugare lo smalto delle clienti.

A me ricorda tanto il problema di schermo giallo che hanno avuto i primi esemplari di iPhone 4s e 5 (ma forse anche qualche iPad), per i quali si è subito urlato allo scandalo, quando poi è bastato aspettare un paio di giorni, perché il collante dello schermo si stabilizzasse ed il giallo scomparisse.

Qui bisogna essere consapevoli che la produzione è tutt'ora fatta in fretta e furia, quindi è da prevedere qualche problema di assemblaggio, e questo è il minore possibile IMHO.

Anche il tipo in questo review afferma la stessa cosa e aggiunge che per la naturale esposizione ai raggi UV chi ha un leggero spot giallo lo vedrà sparire nel tempo oppure di metterlo sotto al sole o sotto una lampada UV.

Una cosa sono macchioline gialle, e in quel caso è la colla, un altra è la questione della tinta di tutto lo schermo, in questo caso hanno fatto vedere che è una calibrazione della cyanogenmod, sullo stesso terminale flashando ColorOS, il bianco è bianco, ma i colori non sono naturali.

Una cosa sono macchioline gialle, e in quel caso è la colla, un altra è la questione della tinta di tutto lo schermo, in questo caso hanno fatto vedere che è una calibrazione della cyanogenmod, sullo stesso terminale flashando ColorOS, il bianco è bianco, ma i colori non sono naturali.

As a continuation of David’s “Yellow Screen” post, we want to highlight two other screen concerns as well:

1. Our fans have also brought up a yellow band the bottom of the screen fearing it may be a quality issue. It is not. Since brightness influences color temperature, the yellow tint at the bottom is due to the design of the phone. There are 14 backlights under the screen, which were not meant to be uniformly distributed along the screen but to be all at the bottom. Since we needed to make the screen shorter, the lights were put very closely to the edge. If we didn’t, we’d have a leakage of light.

Another thing to consider when seeing photos of the yellow band problem is that a lot of the photos were taken at extreme angles with Contrast and Levels changed for more visibility. We have been able to replicate some of the pictures posted here by playing with the Levels settings in Photoshop and the angle at which the picture was taken. We have attached the raw files and settings used to manipulate them in Photoshop below so you can download them and reproduce these images.
Some people have complained that their screen’s yellow hue is due to a “bad” batch. This is not true. JDI and OnePlus extensively test the quality of the screens, and while the factory hue of the screen may vary slightly by batch, we can recreate the level of “yellowness” through software changes.
