Using my PC
****************
I downloaded/installed BlueStacks, it allows me to install and use Android Apps using my PC -
Run Mobile Apps on Windows with BlueStacks :: Mobile Apps on PC :: Mobile App Player for Windows | BlueStacks
I launched BlueStacks, looked for Whatsapp and installed the app from there (BlueStacks has its own "Android Play Store").
At this point, Whatsapp is already installed in my PC (Using BlueStacks)
Open Whatsapp, enter your phone number and verify.
I was able to get the SMS with verification code and also able to receive the call with the code.
Once we have the code, close Bluestacks (Do not enter the code there).
Using my Tablet
********************
Open Whatsapp, at this point we are running the modified version ("Phone calls - read phone status and identity" removed)
Enter same phone number (as the one we entered using Bluestacks).
Try to verify, you will get error message "Failed to verify too many times..."
If the verification code box is not there yet, click on menu (three-dots) and select to enter the Verification Code.
Enter the code you got a few minutes ago via BlueStacks.
You should be able to use whatsapp using your tablet at this point.
