CyanogenMod (pronounced /saɪ.'æn.oʊ.dʒɛn.mɒd/) is an enhanced open source firmware distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. In many cases, CyanogenMod may increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.

Installazione e info primi passi:

1. PREMESSA E REQUISITI:Il terminale deve essere rootato e deve avere installata una custom recovery, fatevi prima un nandroid backup del sistema e un backup manuale di dati, app, foto e altro, scaricate rom, gapps e altro che vi serve
2. Spegnere il telefono
3. Boot in recovery mode (tenere premuti i tasti accensione e volume meno)
4. Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe data
5. Selezionare install Zip from SD Card (you're not actually installing it form an SD card, it just says this because the internal flash storage emulates an SD card).
6. Navigare fino alla rom
7. Selezionare la rom e confermare. Ripetere con le gapps
8. Tornare al menu principale della recovery
9. Reboot
10. Fatto!
11. Il primo boot è normale duri 10-15 minuti o più.... il device è normale sia caldo al tatto
12. Se avete installato le gapps avrete all'avvio la configurazione dell'account google (skippabile, si può fare anche in seguito)

Tip and tricks:

• CyanogenMod includes special menus full of preferences that are intended for developers and other advanced users. These menus are normally hidden from the user. However they can be revealed by following these instructions:
  
  1. Openthe Settings app
  2. Select About Phone
  3. Scroll down, and tap the Build number entry seven times, on the seventh tap, you will be notified that "You are now a developer."
  4. Return back to the main Settings menu, developer options and Performance entries should now be visible.
  
  
• The most common debugging techniques used to diagnose problems on Android are Logcat and kernel logs (dmesg). The first step to using these tools is enabling USB debugging so that you can generate and pull logs from your phone to your computer. USB debugging has a number of other uses as well, see the adb page.
  To enable USB debugging:
  
  1. Enable Developer options by following the instructions in the previous section
  2. Enable System > Developers options > USB debugging
