si...devi installare il cyanogem mod la versione 6 per u8220
funziona bene e il telefono e' piu' reattivo
non so se posso linkare un sito esterno, Howdy all,
Just in case you haven't already got 2.2 installed, go this link.
CyanogenMod 6 port for Pulse (su modaco trovi al discussione completa)
This will work fine but your U8230 will show as a U8220.
Plenty already written on how to apply, suffice to say you need to Backup everything and then enter Recovery Mode to apply.
Have fun.
questo e' il messaggio di un forum che io stesso ho seguito per fare l'aggiornamento...unica modifica, le gapps le ho installate aggiornate se noti ritrovi un market vecchio che non ha piu' app recenti!

Rooting
The current rooting procedure does not work after applying the "December Update" (detailed below). You only need to root your phone if you want to keep the official stock T-Mobile firmware.
Forum Link
The basic process is as follows:
Download the Superboot zip file. Check the forum link above for the latest version.
Extract the zip file.
Reboot your phone into "Bootloader Mode" by turning your phone off, then press the Power button whilst holding End Call (Red) and Volume Down buttons.
Then, depending on your platform (in ascending order):
Linux
Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files:
Enter chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh
Enter ./install-superboot-linux.sh
Mac OSX
Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files:
Enter chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh
Enter ./install-superboot-mac.sh
Windows
