provai io all'epoca su desire con S-ON (prima di sbloccare il bootloader, ma con root) e il comando fastboot boot recovery.img funzionava alla grande!
ovviamente non me la lasciava flashare perche' ero S-ON ma la bootava!

domanda: per fare il download dello zip della rocovery ho trovato una nuova versione, ho aggiornato e poi l'ho scaricata per quando utilizzero eventualmente il famoso tool per fastboot, ho aggiornato con la versione 1.0.0.2 rc1 mentre prima avevo la 1.0.0.1 rc2. cosa cambia da rv1 a rc2? ho fatto una puttanata?
si ma linux, il root non centra nulla con la recovery o con la comunicazione di fastboot! quando e' in fastboot la rom e' disattiva, e il root non influisce sul funzionamento della recovery!! qua e' solo una questione di bootloader e secondo me, essendo che il bootloader S-ON vieta la scrittura sulle partizioni, il boot e' sempre possibile in quanto non si va a scrivere nessun file ma semplicemente si si carica una recovery che funziona in lettura!

in teoria, se consideriamo che si puo' cambiare ROM pur avendo l'S-ON e non l'eng bootloader, credo si possa anche cambiare rom oltre a fare i backup.
credo che il downgrade e il root servano piu' che altro per poter poi installare la recovery tramite rom manager o simili e per rendere la vita piu' facile ai novelli.
credo si possa fare qualsiasi cosa una volta bootata la recovery, in quanto questa bypassa i blocchi del bootloader, almeno per quello che concerne la partizione /system e /data.
ovviamente con S-On non si puo' cambiare firmware radio perche' va flashata da fastboot, ma secondo me il resto potrebbe essere tutto fattibilissimo!

ma scusa secondo te è possibile che non se ne sia accorto nessuno?
se fosse cosi semplice e si risolvesse con un semplice comando mandando in memoria una recovery non pensi che lo sapremmo?
riguardo al fastboot che funziona in S-ON per mandare in memoria la recovery non so se funzioni sul DHD
sul magic 32b non funzionava mentre nel 32a si ma perchè aveva SPL ENG in origine
nel 32b bisognava passare attraverso il comandi ADB per mandare la recovery in memoria
questo lo so per certo perchè li posseggo entrambi
quindi sei proprio sicuro che funzini il comandi in questione senza eng s off?
dai flascha un ruu e prova...
ma non ci penso minimamente!
a quello che so bootloader del desire e del desire HD sono della stessa generazione quindi, a rigor di logica dovrebbe funzionare, almeno il boot! il resto proprio non lo so! sicuro il backup si puo' fare, ma ne sono sicuro quasi al 100%!
il resto boh, sono solo deduzioni logiche ma non garantite, proprio perche' se fosse vera sta cosa, le varie procedure non servirebbero ad una cippa!!

salta fuori che bastava passare dalla porta di servizio
ma quello che mi chiedo è perchè HTC insiste su questa strada......
anche se mi sembra che sul sesation xl è abbastanza semplice avere root un po come su samsung....ne sai qualcosa?
