Spiegazione sul Deamon: cos'è, a cosa serve come si usa - si modifica.

Quanto segue è stato scritto dal Super Moderator memnoch quindi meriti e ringraziamenti vanno a lui.

Tutorial per il daemon

Il daemon è un programma "fantasma" che riesce a rimanere in background completamente invisibile al sistema. I processi detti "daemons" (in italiano "demoni") creano dei cloni di se stessi. Questi cloni vengono killati dal sistema per ragioni di ottimizzazione RAM. Quando questo avviene, il sistema viene "ingannato" perchè crede di aver eliminato un processo in background (clone del daemon) che invece è ancora presente e funzionante. L'uso di questa tattica nei sistemi linux è molto diffusa. Grazie ad essa, si ottiene dai processi la massima efficenza a costo 0 per la RAM. Ecco perchè il daemon funzionerà sempre meglio di qualsiasi app per la gestione della cpu.
Il daemon è studiato per avere un comportamento ben preciso. Infatti adotta due profili diversi a seconda che il device sia a "riposo" (sleep mode) o sia in "attività" (wake mode). se il device è spento, il daemon si modifica, e gestisce le frequenze attraverso un governor detto "conservative" che tende alle frequenze più basse possibili. Se invece il device è attivo, il daemon gestisce le frequenze col governor detto "ondemand", che ha come caratteristica il rilascio di potenza direttamente proporzionale alla richiesta del sistema. Detto questo, è sconsigliabile cambiare sia l'uno che l'altro governor. Infatti il daemon, per sua stessa natura, si comporta già in maniera molto aggressiva. Per aggressività, si intende il numero di step (a livello di frequenze) che il daemon utilizza nella gestione della cpu. Per fare un esempio:
Il governor smartass fà 4 steps di frequenze (minima,media,medio-alta,massima). Poche se pensiamo a quelle disponibili.
Il governor ondemand fà 8 steps di frequenze (minima, minima-media, media,medio-alta,medio alta1,medio-alta2,alta,massima). Molte, anche pensando a quelle disponibili.
Ovviamente questo era solo un esempio ma rende l'idea. Ecco perchè il daemon, che ha come "stile" proprio lo smartass, và gestito da un governor che non nè accentui l'aggressività, ma con uno "neutro" che segua le richieste del daemon senza interferenze. On demand è il migliore. Non ci sono dubbi.
il daemon è supportato dalla rom. Quindi non ha niente a che vedere con il kernel. Potete installare qualsiasi kernel e usare sempre il daemon. A patto che però si conoscano esattamente le frequenze che il kernel che vogliamo installare utilizza. E' infatti chiaro come ogni kernel abbia una sua propria tavola ACPU con frequenze differenti a seconda di come è stato compilato e di quali sono i suoi sorgenti.

OPERARE SUL DAEMON

da PC
Potete modificare il daemon PRIMA del flash della rom.
Aprite (senza scompattare) lo zip della rom
navigate in system\etc\virtuous_oc
modificate i 6 files servendovi del "Blocco Note" (installato di default in qualsiasi os)
chiudete tutto (date conferma di aggiornare l'archivio dello zip se vi viene chiesto)
flashate la rom
Se avete GIA' FLASHATO LA rom.
In questo caso potete usare Qtadb o pushare i files MODIFICATI tramite adb col comando adb push (per utenti esperti)
in entrambi i casi, la procedura è sempre la stessa.
modificate i files e rimetteteli al loro posto.
Riavviate il dhd e siete ok.

GUI per daemon
Si tratta di un user interface creata per gestire il daemon. E' diversa da Set CPU, anche se non lo sembra. In pratica non conta come applicazione e non pesa sul sistema. Installatela con Astro File Manager. Una volta installata, settate i valori (consiglio quelli "recommended", al massimo alzate il valore Sleep max a 460800MHz..non andate oltre perchè non ci sono miglioramenti. Una volta fatto schiacciate "apply" e i valori verranno settati. Non c'è bisogno di riavviare.

Ho flashato la ROM dopo il super wipe, ma il wi-fi mi da errore. Controllando nelle impostazioni l'indirizzo mac non c'è nemmeno. Qualcuno sa aiutarmi?

Probabilmente qualcosa è andato storto nel flash della rom..io riproverei a flasharla sempre dopo il super wipe..ma se aspetti 5 minuti uppo l'ultima versione 3.5.0 XE

Edit: Niente mi ci vuole troppo per upparla ed ora non ho tempo lo farò stasera...prova a scaricarla da qui se vuoi..ancora non l'ho provata ma sembra promettente. Se dovessi avere ancora problemi col wifi o di qualunque genere ti consiglio un erase approfondito segui la prima guida in firma.

Niente da fare, anche la 3.5 mi segna errore in wi-fi e relativo hotspot.
Anche la leedroid e la pyramid3d mi danno questo problema.
Ho fatto dapprima il wipe data poi il wipe cache, successivamente ho formattato data system partizioni e via dicendo, ho fatto wipe della dalvik e ho fatto partire il super wipe della revo.
L'ho installata e non si accende l'antenna.
Dimmi che non devo flashare la radio che mi viene un colpo al cuore.

Che versione di radio hai? Non te lo so dire con certezza se il problema sia quello..però è probabile che sia così, specialmente se hai una versione di radio datata. In ogni caso se guardi qui ed esegui esattamente la guida non dovresti avere problemi.

La radio gestisce tutto quello che riguarda le varie connessioni: umts, gsm, wifi, gps, ecc. è comunque una parte del software che si può cambiare all'occorrenza se come nel tuo caso si hanno dei problemi. La guida ti spiega chiaramente come fare..il rischio di brik è minimo se l'md5 del file PG58IMG risulta esatto. A volte ci possono essere incompatibilità tra rom e radio come nel tuo caso per questo bisogna aggiornarla. Io ti posso dire che l'ho fatto molte volte seguendo le guide sia col dhd che col sensation e non mi è mai successo nulla. Credo che tu non abbia alternative in ogni caso se lasci la revo 3.5.0 monta la 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
