Ecco a voi la prima rom custom, basata su kitkat ufficiale, che lo sviluppatore "megalomanic14", molto attivo su xda, ha gentilmente reso disponibile per chiunque!

MegaKat V1 Deodex: based on udne4 stock touchwiz kit kat rom for Galaxy Mega I9205

Known Issue: so far everything's running flawlessly...but there's one issue...rooting...i could not get the SuperSu binaries to flash without breaking wifi supplicant, or cause cascade failures in the system...so i developed an easy way around this until the proper binaries get updated probably for v2...see below for how to get super user root access on Megakat, it literally takes one extra reboot and 2 clicks in Philz recovery

Instructions: YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY OR NO ROOT/FAILED FLASH IS POSSIBLE

1: download kit kat base rom i9205xxudne4 from sammobile.com or live.samung-updates.com

2. Use odin to flash udne4 base rom in pda slot of odin...i use odin 3.06
3. After odin flashing stock kk flash this....
Philz recovery: flash this in pda slot of odin exactly the same way as the stock rom before it

4. Reboot into Philz cwm and make a backup of stock kk (highly recommended)
5. DIRTY FLASH MegaKat v9xxx.zip (dirty flash means do not wipe data or factory reset/don't wipe dalvik cache either)
6. Let MegaKat v1 boot as usual
7. Power down and then boot into recovery
8. Under Philz advanced options in Philz recovery: click Re-root the system...click yes...you'll see success install SuperSu from play store message
9. Reboot and install SuperSu from play store
10. Enjoy lol

***The reason you have to do this for root is because I could not get the proper binaries to flash like normal without breaking wifi or something else in the system...so i sort of backdoored root access by installing all the SuperSu and su binaries and Lib files into the proper places in the system, so everything is essentially rooted except selinux blocks SuperSu on boot, but by having the binaries already included Philz can easily reactive the root without issue. A bit of a hassle but better than no rom or rom without root...why this rom is dirty flashable...since your first step is an Odin flash update of all apks permissions and framework partitions were essentially booting into kk clean after odin flash...so in this particular case Megakat v1 can be dirty flashed as it acts more as a system update...again this method is avoid issues and ease the hassle as a by product.

Notes: since kk has so many incompatible apps and root apps I didn't include any outside apps...obviously v1 will be our "test" build then as we progress towards v2 I'll add more and more apps and system mods but v1 is a bit stripped down more like my v1x builds from megafire...i tried to increase the speed and smoothness to match megafire...finally after about 20 test builds and rebuilding the tw launcher about 6 times I finally feel like it's comparable to megafire

Ciao a tutti ho installato questa rom, l'unico problema che ho fino ad ora che in recovery il philz si blocca quando do il comando per creare un backup..

la rom funziona benissimo veramente fluida, l'ho installata al posto di cianogen e non torno più indietro.
Scania ho visto il tuo messaggio riginale su xda, può essere che tu non abbia spazio a sufficienza per il backup? Ad ogni modo io l'ho installat senza farlo, avevo già backuppato per mio conto.

La vorrei installare anche io ma non ho chiaro come si deve fare, c'è qualcuno che gentilmente posti una guida, passo passo per installarla? Va prima fatto il root e poi installato?

Per installarla devi munirti di root, recovery e devi avere l'ultimo aggiornamento a kitkat sul mega.

Se qualcosa va storto..c'è il rischio di brick? o basta poi flashare una rom stock?
Perdo tutti i miei dati (app+foto etc...) se eseguo la procedura?

Ti consiglio di munirti di backup originale e poi fai tutti i flash che vuoi. Le foto te le puoi spostare su sd esterna cosi non vengono toccati, però in teoria flashando questa rom non dovresti perdere nessun dato (ne app, musica, ecc...)
Comunque questa rom sarà pur bella e fluida rispetto alla stock, mati consiglio di aspettare ancora un mesetto e arriverà la Cyanogenmod 12 ufficiale, stavolta la fanno ufficiale, per il nostro Mega.
