CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Instructions:

First time flashing this ROM to the Samsung Galaxy S I9003, or coming from another ROM?

1. Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
2. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
3. Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
4. Perform a factory reset.
5. Flash this ROM.

Upgrading from earlier version of this ROM?

1. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
2. Flash this ROM (your Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).

Issues?
Experience issues? Please provide the following info:

• If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
• If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
• Please use Pastebin when possible.

Come sempre complimenti e questa volta aggiungo: e che Cavoli ma Nama fa sempre tutto da solo.. Ma non è che per caso possiamo anche esser d aiuto anche noi qui del forum? C e niente che possiamo fare che vada oltre il solito: grazie Nama, sei grande Nama, etc etc?

E meno male che ho fatto funzionare il gps cosi da avere una gingerbread XD

Comunque la dm4 la mollo visto che samsung non crea un firmware funzionante.. darò supporto alla cyanogenmod e offrirò una mia versione modificata. Quando avrò tempo lavorerò sul tema

scusate ma questa ROM è su base XXKPQ? Namaless ma dove dici "bug conosciuti" significa che stai lavorando x risolverli o rimarranno?

No 2.3.7 nn centra nulla ma e basata su un porting da i9000 e nn e ancora completa ci va tempo per quello parla di bug
