An .odex file is an Optimized .dex file (hence the 'o'), meaning that it has basically been pre-compiled for a specific platform. Most of the stock ROMs I've seen are odexed, I assume because the carriers/manufacturers want the performance boost. They also don't have any kind of official theming methods, so they probably don't care if you can't change the colors of your status icons or your system text or whatnot. Plus they have the advantage of knowing what device they want their system to run on, so they can pre-compile the .odex files very easily, I imagine. As an added bonus, it makes it difficult to pull .apk files off of the device and share them with people.
Edit: Since I just realized that I was not very explicit about the difference here - an "odexed" ROM is one where the apps have been precompiled, and thus contain associated .odex files which are external to the .apk files. A "deodexed" ROM is one where data that would be optimized in the .odex files has been more or less merged back into the .apk files (meaning it is not optimized but basically platform agnostic), thus the .apk files are self-contained and there are no .odex files. This is usually just done with a deodexing utility, such as smali/baksmali. -

Comunque è da un pò che non esce un nuovo update, spero tanto che nadlabak stia lavorando su ICS... -

Ragazzi ho installato la nuova relase la KANG e venivo dalla precedente.. ma mi sta dando molti problemi tipo a livello di touch che non corrisponde e a volte non risponde proprio... a voi è capitato? un altro problema me lo da con lo sfondo bianco quello con i sassi classico mi appare tutto sfocato nel menu! a volte per interrompere una chiamata devo togliere la batteria!
Cosa assurda mai capitato con la cyano... :(
Peccato perchè questa rom mi piace.

Cyanogenmod 9 uscirà a febbraio circa.
Poi, non avremo ICS perché:
- E' già tanto se abbiamo GB, visto che con bootloader bloccato siamo costretti a tenere il vecchio kernel 2.6.32.9 (la base di Froyo). Con quel kernel ICS non può funzionare.
- Il Milestone ha poca RAM, ma non solo, ha anche una scarsa memoria interna. Già Nadlabak sta facendo i salti mortali per ottimizzare il poco spazio che abbiamo (vedi l'ultima trovata del deodexed).
Personalmente sono contento già così, perché dal mio Milestone sto tirando fuori veramente tanto, quanto non avrei potuto immaginare.
Il prossimo passo sarà, fra pochi mesi, comprare quella bestia dell'HTC Doubleshot (o "T-Mobile MyTouch4G Slide"), 768 MB di RAM e 1,2 GHz dual core a meno di 400 euro dagli U.S.A.. e bootloader sbloccato! :)
Il Milestone è stato un buon inizio per conoscere il mondo del modding, ma mai più terminali con bootloader bloccato.
Io non ho nessun problema. Prova a fare un wipe cache e un wipe dalvik, e magari a riflashare l'ultima release.Quote:

Sono uscite due nuove versioni!! Ho scaricato l'ultima qualche ora fà... Per ora tutto ok, mi pare anche la ram disponibile sia aumentata. Per ora ho anche tolto Superchareged, pare che non ce ne sia più bisogno!

BLASH hai perfettamente ragione ma ti vorrei ricordare che anche GB per noi sembrava solo un sogno quindi anche sè sembra impossibile io ci voglio (anche sè in piccola parte) credere che verso inizio 2012 avremo ice cream sandwich sul nostro pietrone ;););)

L' unica speranza è che quando si completa l' acquisizione di Motorola da parte di Google rilascino le chiavi del bootloader, ma ci credo veramente poco. -
