Risolto egregiamente su Android 4.4 Kitkat con la seguente procedura (in inglese):

I was able to work around the issue by modifying the following sqlite database (you'll need root):
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

You need to add a new entry to the global table called "tether_dun_required" with a value of 0.

After I made this change I also needed to change my APN settings so that it uses ipv4 instead of ipv6. It seems like tethering with ipv6 does not work 100% yet.

Ok, here we go. I used SQLite Database Browser (need root)

Pull the file from your phone (/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db) and save it to your computer. It works best if you use a file explorer like ES File Explorer and save a copy to your SD card, and then transfer to your PC. Then, before you take any more steps, make a copy of it on your SD card named settings.db.bak in case something goes wrong and you need to undo what you did.

Then, open SQLite Database Browser from where you downloaded it.

• Open settings.db
• Browse data
• Select global
• Click New Record
• Double click in the new fields of the new record and make them match "tether_dun_required" with a value of 0.
• To do this, just type in the big text box and click Apply Changes. No extra spaces or carriage returns
• Save your changes

Put the file back on your "SD card," go back into ES File Explorer, and push it back to /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/ and reboot.

confermo, funziona.. io direi di aggiungerlo nella prima pagina o comunque di metterlo in rilievo,un utente con lo stesso problema prima che trova la soluzione a pagina 39 preferisce andare a cambiare operatore..

Osservazione giusta, aggiungerei se possibile tradotto in Italiano per smentire qualsiasi fraintendimento e se occorre i permessi di Root (cosa che io non possiedo) aggiungerlo come "Clausola", grazie.

... e magari così per caso non hai il Terminale con i "permessi di root" vero?
