Guys, firstly I'll try and write this up so most people can understand.
I know many, many people love this ROM and the pure AOSP goodness. That's why RC4 got pulled. If you take a look at the issue tracker on Google Code, it's full of people already reporting bugs that are already in the 'Known Issues' section of the first page. Onecosmic is doing most of the developing for this ROM, with the rest of us adding small contributions, like test kernels, scripts, minor bug fixes and public relations. We try our best to work like a well oiled machine, but sometimes things break and bad stuff happens. Just like RC4 getting released with the WiFi/Data bug. We are building across 4 devices, I9000/B, Captivate and Vibrant and trying to compensate things for thousands of many different devices.
I know most people may not take the time to read this, but if you do kudos to you if you did and I'm glad you understand the scale of this project. Bugs are going to happen, but please try to be considerate when posting and make a post than can be somewhat useful.
First and foremost I would like to apologise for any false hope we may have given you by releasing RC4 with a few bugs that will stop you from using this ROM as your daily driver. I guess we got too ahead of ourselves and wanted you guys to give this a test run as we too were anticipating your response.
Hopefully in the meantime we can find a proper fix for the issues remaining in RC4 and will provide a repack. Time is a factor here, Onecosmic is the only one with the ROM source at the moment so he is doing the ROM based fixes, whereas all of us have access to the kernel source and kernel issues can be fixed. Again, sorry about releasing RC4 and then pulling it.
Thanks.
