Got it, at least part of the way. The Italian is more tricky than I thought ... :-) I succeeded in flashing (seeing yellow "download ok") and got to blue recovery screen and from here I could also reboot to blue recovery. However, once I have had the phone started in normal mode and reboot into recovery, I'm back in the standard orange recovery. I'd expect the blue to stay...?

The modded recovery is expected to stay, but on many recent mediatek phones there is a feature that automagically reflashes the original recovery on reboot.

Indeed MTK droid tools can produce a modded boot.img meant to avoid this beahvior.

Now, my idea is that this feature is present on Alcatels too, but for some reasons it doesn't work, so to made the process simpler and less risky I haven't uploaded the modded boot.img and, until now, no one complained about the recovery image restored (we had more than 800 downloads shared between the four models).

Likely, for some reason, that protection feature worked on your phone, I have no idea why.

For now just try to reflash the CWM, reboot in recovery and root the phone, before trying to reboot it to the normal system.

If the stock recovery will be reflashed again I'll explain how to replace the boot.img too.

Thanks. I actually reasoned something like that could be the case and went ahead (redoing the process from step 2 and onwards). The CWM recovery remains when doing it this way. So I got through now :-) Phone is 6010D bought from Amazon (Germany) in June 2013. Found it to be the first not too big dualsim phone with decent specs and a good screen and got surprised when I realized how power hungry it is. It uses way more than my old HTC Desire S. So I started tweaking power usage and got to point where root was needed to go further (using the JuiceDefender app). For some reason the Danish dealers don't have Alcatel and they also hardly have any of the other dualsim phones.

So here is my wrap up and some suggestions for improvements for your guide:

General hints: If you are not yet familiar with the phone please notice that it takes a while for it to shut down. Default is that it vibrates when shutting down has completed. Make sure you wait for this before trying to reboot.

You get into recovery mode by pressing the power button while also pressing the volume up button (this applies to newer 6010d models, may be different on other phones). By pressing a different combo of the buttons, you can also get access to a menu which is in Chinese only. This is not relevant for rooting (you can remove the battery to get out again).

2) When you apply "scatter-loading file" you will (may?) get this warning: "Not ALL images are correctly loaded, which may cause boot up issue! Do you still want to go on downloading anyway?" It is OK to proceed.

If you for some reason have to repeat step 2, make sure you select the txt-file provided (it is auto-selected only the first time) and repeat selection of the modded file as described.

6) The backup location I have here is clockworkmod\backup.

Also you can add:
If you after having turned on the phone normally go back to recovery mode and find the standard (orange text) recovery, you will have to redo the process from step 2 and onwards, without turning on the phone normally. This may happen with the newest versions of the Mediatek processor.

7) The "Delete China" process did not find anything on this phone. I have saved the log file and can send it to you as PM if you want it.

Dovereste incontrarvi voi due, vi riescono le due metà differenti della faccenda

@andre per questo genere di domanda di fa prima a usare gugle che a chiedere su un forum e aspettare risposta, cmq schiacci f8 al boot e scegli disabilita controllo firma driver o una cosa del genere (sopravvive solo fino allo spegnimento del pc).

Poi devi essere veloce nell'installare i driver da gestione periferiche, il telefonino sta nella modalità giusta una decina di secondi

@lemike me se attacchi a telefono acceso che succede ? è riconosciuto da mtk dt?

Cmq, nell'ordine, scarica la versione aggiornata (ti da il link il programma medesimo), e prova che capita a manina, da un prompt dei comandi dentro la cartella adb.

Scrivi adb shell e vedi cosa succede.

1)che modalità? la recovery???
2)i driver da installare manualmente sono quelli (driver alcatel) senza il file exe?

ok sono riuscito a fare il primo passo però MTK non mi riconosce il cell in recovery ma solo da acceso....
e un altra cosa strana quando lo riavvio mi torna la ricovery normale ma come è possibile

BTW I just want to made clear my personal pilosophy.

I don't believe in the guides covering every minimal detail, I believe the tutorials should be just the spark that ignites some curiosity, some little brainstorm.

And I believe that the point of rooting a phone is not just the final result, but also the fun of discovering something, learning something new, and so on.

So, according to this philosophy the guide is already too detailed.

That said i'll refine it over time, and i'll keep your message handy, it will be very useful, especially for people who don't understand well the Italian.


P.S.

Just keep in mind that CMW doesn't backup the whole phone, it lacks the support for the /custpack partition, so migrating to TWRP is strongly suggested. After doing it, is suggested to delete the CWM backup folder to make space for a TWRP backup.

(CWM backups can't be used by TRWP restore, atleast they can't w/o some manual intervention)

Credo non sussistano problemi ad usare la procedura del 6010D, nel caso ci fossero ne discutiamo insieme.

Nel dubbio segui quanto esposto nei messaggi 45, 55 e dintorni per farti un backup totale sul PC, giusto nel caso qualcosa andasse storto (cosa che, ripeto, ritengo altamente improbabile)

Per tagliare corto fai come ho consigliato di fare al tuo collega di sventura flasha la CWM, rootta il telefono e poi flasha di nuovo la TWRP.

E' solo questione di fare riconoscere correttamente i driver, ma fai prima a fare così.
