Sicuramente non molti conosceranno SPMC (Semper Media Center), un fork di XBMC/KODI realizzato per Android e disponibile dal mese di Agosto gratuitamente su Play Store e Amazon App Shop. Durante le ultime ore questa piattaforma ha ricevuto un nuovo ed importante aggiornamento che porta un sostanziale cambiamento per molti dispositivi.

Grazie alla release 13.3.3, SPMC adesso supporterà lo standard H.265 su tutti i mini PC ed anche tablet dotati di SoC Rockchip RK3288, Amlogic S805/S812 e tante altre soluzioni meno conosciute ma che ugualmente ritroviamo a bordo di molti prodotti low-cost.
Questa è anche la prima release che porta la compatibilità ad Android TV e Android 5.0 Lollipop. Ecco il changelog ufficiale:
- Preliminary support for h265 (including RK3288)
- Preliminary support for Android TV
- Allow sleep and Daydream to kick in (e.g. on Amazon Fire TV)
- Add setting to scrape all videos, even if they failed
- Add “sd” & “hd” to the advanced settings of libstagefright (and mediacodec) for fine tuning
- Allow fullscreen on Jelly Bean
- Hide irrelevant video & audio settings
- Another possible fix for start crash
- Make the “no launcher” version default
