ho installato viber sul mio note da una settimana, ma onestamente non sono ancora riuscito a fare una chiamata senza problemi
come operatore ho TIM, la prima volta ho provato mentre guidavo (con il segnale al massimo) ed ho imputato il problema a cambio cella o problema similare. Ho poi riprovato da fermo con un altro sempre da fermo, segnale al massimo... niente
voce robotica (quando va bene) e segnale a salti

Mi scuso, mi risponderà e spiegare in inglese:
Sometimes 3G reception could be low, and this is something we cannot control. Naturally this affects Viber's call quality and results in disruptions and broken sound.
We are continuously trying to improve our handling of 3G, so you can expect better performance as newer versions of Viber are released.
Please note that having full 3G reception doesn't mean your internet's bandwidth is at the maximum expected. When you see a "full reception bar", it merely means that physically, your phone is covered with the cellular signal.
When it comes to the bandwidth itself, your connection could still be slow due to various different reasons, such as being in an area with many other users from the same provider, thus congesting the network.
Meanwhile, WiFi- WiFi calls on Viber sound generally clear and are free of such disruptions.

ciao, ho un piccolo problema con Viber, o almeno credo.
Quando qualcuno mi manda un messaggio e lo smartphone (HTC sensation con ICS 4.0.3 brand vodafone) ha lo schermo spento, la notifica sonora del messaggio non compare, non succede proprio nulla, ma appena accendo lo schermo ecco che il messaggio arriva.
Questa cosa è normale oppure no?

Hi, I think I have a little problem with Viber.
When somebody send me a message and the smartphone's display is off, I don't receive any notification (sound or vibration), but as soon I turn the display on I receive the message and the notification (sound and vibration).
Is it work correctly or not?

This could be the reason for the problem. Please note that at this stage we don't officially support custom ROMs with Viber. Running Viber on a custom ROM results in various side effects (sometimes total lack of functionality), but we can't afford to support all custom ROMs out there. We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more ROMS, but meanwhile - you might want to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue.
Have you tested Viber on your device with Stock ROM? Did Viber crash in that case too?

What Android version do you have? Is it a Custom ROM?
Also, are you sure your C2DM service is working?

About the map question - I am still not sure I fully understand the problem. Viber can send location inside Viber messages. But this location is not an "online location", it is only the location that was relevant to the moment when the message was sent. If you friend sees her position on the map constantly changing, then this has nothing to do with Viber really ;) It's probably an external app, or the regular Google services...
About the problem on WiFi - the WiFi network you are using might be blocking Viber's ports. Try this:
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connected to different WiFi networks. Does it work now?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, contact your router manufacturer)

C2DM is a service that pops up notification messages upon events, run by Google's servers.
Generally, if you have a Gmail account configured on your phone, C2DM should automatically be active.
Please try uninstalling Viber then reinstall (note that this will cause the deletion of your current Viber message history). If the problem persists after that, please use this direct link to report the problem to our support team: Your ticket details | Viber Support

Viber provides its free service only between 2 users who have Viber installed.
If you try calling someone who does not have Viber (through the application), then the call will switch itself to a regular, cellular call (and you pay your cellular provider for this).

Mi capita spesso, mentre parlo con Viber che il telefono squilli...ed ovviamente avendo il telefono attaccatto all'orecchio il risultato è devastante.....
Esiste un modo, in caso di chiamata VOIP di bloccare le chiamate "voce"?
Oppure in caso di contemporaneità delle chiamate, che l'utente risulti occupato?

ho una domanda anche io,quando avevo gingerbred i contatti si intravano perfettamente nella rubrica e nel menu account e sincronizzazione avevo anche viber...ora passato ad ics questo non avviene? si pensa di implementarlo?? grazie

You mean that when you are in a normal conversation (cellular), and there is an incoming Viber call, it still rings?

Yes, the synchronization of Viber with the native contact list will happen very soon, in version 2.2 (coming to Market hopefully within the next 2 weeks).

This issue is actually not a "bug" - this is how Viber is programmed.
The reason for this, is that on most phones cellular calls get a "priority" over any third party apps. This is true for all iPhones, and for some Androids. What we do to avoid the call simply getting cut, is that we put the other side on "Hold" state, until the person who received the cellular call is finished with his conversation. Viber then immediately and automatically returns to the Viber call that was interrupted by the GSM call :)
