Quindi neanche questa è una soluzione?
Vorrei specificare che io ho sempre usato la Revolution HD da quando l'ho comprato (Novembre 2012).
Primo giorno fatto subito root e messa la Revolution 16, adesso sto alla 18, quindi Android 4.1.2 e versione attuale XXELLA.

Non so se questa versione (che ho già da Novembre) è dotata di questo fantomatico fix o no, qualcuno sa rispondere?
Inoltre: non si sa nemmeno se è un problema risolvibile via software? Non è la scheda madre il problema? E quindi hardware...

The "Sudden Death" issue is caused by firmware on the (16 GB) VTU00M, revision 0xf1 eMMC (Embedded MultiMedia Card or internal memory if you like). Samsungs Kernel Source Code (Update 7) has been identified as the fix. There is still no evidence that the latest sboot bootloader addresses this issue.

Although we are still not quite 100% Certain this will prevent all S3's suffering the SDS (Predisposition to the fault etc), to the best of our knowledge it does. Even if it does not fully fix it, its closer to a fix and safer than older versions, so if its within your means to do so, an update would be advised.


What do I need to be "Safe"?


* Do I need any particular Bootloader? No - There is no evidence to suggest this fixes anything
* Do I need an Update 7 fix Based Kernel? Yes - Kernel is where the fix is
* Do I need any particular ROM? No - The Kernel is where the fix is
* Do I need a Recovery with Update 7 fixes? Yes - Recovery uses a Kernel too so it also needs fixes


Lets get to it... Where is it fixed?


Stock:
The following ROMs include a Kernel and recovery with the Update 7 "Fixes" applied. If you have one of these, officially consider yourself "Safe".

You may be rooted but if you have a custom kernel or recovery, they must be from the lists below.

* XXELKC
* XXELL1
* XXELL4
* XXELL5
* XXELL6
* XXELLA
* XXELLB
* XXELLC
* Appears like all 4.1.2 based i9300 builds will have the fix.

Custom Roms (that include a ROM specific and dedicated kernel - including fixes):
These are custom ROMs that have their own kernel that is not flashable separately. This means it is not packaged with a kernel from the "Custom Kernels" section. If you have the version specified or newer, you are "safe"

* HydRx-D v2.2.1r1 (i9300 TW)
* CM 10.1 Nightly 20130109 (i9300 AOSP)

Custom Kernels:
These kernels include the update 7 fixes. If you are rooted with a custom Kernel that is older than (or doesn't match) the versions below, you are not considered "safe"

* Siyah 1.8.7 (i9300 TW & AOSP)
* Yank555.lu 3.0a (i9300 TW)

Since the recovery uses a kernel too, to be "safe", the recovery's kernel must also be fixed.

* CF-auto-root (stock recovery supplied with this)

Mmm io dico che questo aggiornamento risolva il problema delle morti e l della falla del processore....cioè hanno ributtato fuori un altro aggiornamento per Vodafone, Che era già uscito xP..... E poi sammobile è una fonte certa, non ufficiale ma sicura..... E quest ultima aveva detto che era un problema software che si risolveva con questo aggiornamento.....

Magari non c'è la certezza, ma per rilasciare un aggiornamento così vicino a quello precedente... sarà per qualcosa di urgente da risolvere spero !!!

secondo me se hanno rilasciato un mini update è davvero per le sudden death non ricordo da samsung un comportamento del genere....

Il problema, per adesso, è capire se quel problema può essere risolto a livello software, dato che è risaputo che il difetto è un difetto hardware.
Al riguardo, neanche Samsung si è ancora espressa.

Raga permetto che ho letto la prima pagina e seguo il thread dalla sua creazione. Un Po di tempo fa lessi un commento di un utente al cui non vollero riparare il cellulare perché in system riportava custom. Ora vorrei sapere se questo è accaduto anche ad altri. Anche se mi rassicurarono in questo thread, vale almeno la pena sapere se questo può essere un problema in tal caso. Riportato tutto stock proprio per questo ma proprio nn ce la faccio

Di quell'applicazione non mi fido. Ti dice solo il modello dell'eMMC.
