Il Samsung Galaxy S4 e S4 Mini sono gli unici smartphone sul mercato a poter utilizzare tutte le reti LTE del pianeta. Tutto ciò è possibile grazie ad uno standard che permette di sfruttare sia le reti TDD-LTE e sia le reti FDD-LTE.
Ecco quanto dichiarato da JK Shin:

The first commercially available TDD/FDD seamless handover devices will allow customers to fully enjoy the benefits of fast mobile data communications no matter where they are.”
Oltre l’aggiunta del dual-mode LTE le altre specifiche rimarranno invariate, ovvero display Super AMOLED Full HD da 5 pollici ,Snapdragon 600, fotocamera posteriore da 13 megapixel, 2 GB di RAM, NFC e 16 GB di memoria interna (espandibile) per il GS4 ed invece Snapdragon 400, 1.5 GB di RAM, display qHD da 4,3 pollici, fotocamera da 8 megapixel, 8 GB di memoria interna (espandibile) per il GS4 Mini.
