Alcatel e Cyanogen non realizzeranno l’Hero 2+ con CyanogenOS

Durante il Mobile World Congress 2015 il produttore Alcatel aveva annunciato una partnership con Cyanogen per la realizzazione di una versione con Cyanogen OS del noto Hero 2+. Da allora non abbiamo ricevuto altri aggiornamenti ma sembra che questo device non verrà mai alla luce.

Durante le ultime ore l’azienda ha annunciato, tramite un comunicato, di non poter più realizzare la versione con CyanogenOS dell’Hero 2+:

“ALCATEL ONETOUCH and Cyanogen, Inc. have made a mutual decision to forgo the release of the HERO 2+. At its announcement, the goal of bringing this device to market was to offer the most advanced hardware and software at an affordable price. The bar was set high and unfortunately the device does not have a clear Android 5.1 upgrade path. We therefore are committing to refocus our joint efforts on a next-generation product that can exceed the expectations of end users. Our teams remain dedicated to releasing an ALCATEL ONETOUCH device powered by Cyanogen OS, and are looking to share an update when we have more details to share.”

Purtroppo i problemi avuti con Android 5.1 Lollipop non hanno permesso alle due aziende di continuare i lavori sullo smartphone, infatti entrambe hanno deciso di non portare più sul mercato lo smartphone promesso alcuni mesi fa per concentrarsi su altri progetti.

Perciò non escludiamo che in futuro possa arrivare un nuovo smartphone con CyanogenOS, magari basato su Android M.
